Sean Callery is attached to score the upcoming reboot of the long-running Fox hit series 24. 24: Live Another Day will tell a 24-hour story over 12 episodes that jump hours. Kiefer Sutherland will return in the leading role of Jack Bauer. Howard Gordon (Homeland) is set to executive produce the mini-series with Imagine TV's Brian Grazer and 20th Century Fox Television. It has also been announced that Jon Cassar who helmed 59 episodes of the original series has signed to direct multiple episodes, including the first couple of hours.
Callery previously composed the music for all 8 seasons and 192 episodes of the show from 2001 to 2010. Varese Sarabande released a number of soundtrack albums featuring the composer’s music from the series. 24: Live Another Day is set to premiere in May 2014 on FOX.
Damn, I hate when they say "reboot". Feels like they want to dispose of the burden of picking up where Day 8 left off.
Callery has won 3 Emmy Awards for his work on 24 (seasons 2, 5 & 8). He's been nominated for every season.
Since season 8 ended, Callery has been composing the score of several series : The Kennedys (miniseries from a bunch of 24 producers), The Confession (webseries starring Kiefer Sutherland as a hitman), Bones, Elementary and Homeland (where a lot of 24 producers are working).
His music is an integral part of the show. If you care about your ears, you should listen to the soundtracks of 24, where you'll find many amazing tracks, such as the full version of the 24 theme (full orchestra edition) :

As well as action sequences (as in, he'll make the chases/gunfights even more exciting)...
I could post dozens of them, so just do what I do and purchase the soundtracks, they're worth it. There has been one for seasons 1, 2 & 3, another one focusing on seasons 4, 5 and the videogame, and another one filled with tracks from the season 7 prequel, Redemption. Sadly, an official soundtrack of seasons 6, 7 & 8 has yet to be released, hopefully the return of 24 will make them want to do that — also, a beautiful complete series Blu-ray box set would be much appreciated.
